TEENWORKS AWARDED $50,000 FOR SOUTH BEND PROGRAM

Indianapolis, IN – May 5, 2026 – The Community Foundation of St. Joseph County has awarded TeenWorks $50,000 for their expansion into South Bend. TeenWorks, a non-profit focused on serving low-income teens through paid work experience, is opening in the South Bend area and is prepared to hire 20-25 teens this summer.

TeenWorks' six-week employment program is geared at providing job opportunities and professional development for underserved teens. Support from the community foundation will help cover wages, meals, and transportation for all participants who work exclusively for non-profit partners in the South Bend area. This year TeenWorks will partner with the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, Unity Garden, and Youth Services Bureau to serve as worksites for teens.

Nick Duvall, President & CEO of TeenWorks, spoke on the importance of the partnership between TeenWorks and the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County. “TeenWorks is excited to enter South Bend this summer and the support of the community foundation is a testament to the quality of our programming and outcomes for teens. We are thankful for their partnership as we join the community.”

TeenWorks remains steadfast in its commitment to offer Indiana teens invaluable job opportunities that instill essential skills while nurturing a deep sense of community service. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and unwavering support, TeenWorks equips teens with the vital tools they need to excel in the ever-evolving workforce.
