We can’t wait to support you on your journey! Use this page as a resource for your Senior Portfolio, aka the resources you need to successfully submit your applications. Scroll down and take a look at the materials and deadlines:
College Apps
This includes applications to Common App, Black Common App (for HBCUs), and applications located directly on the school’s website, such as the Ivy Tech application. November 1st priority deadline!

November 1st priority deadline!! That means you get first consideration for admission spots, housing, and limited scholarship money.
Applications submitted after the deadline are subject to less scholarship funds and fewer options for housing and classes.

Some schools allow you to download your transcript directly from your Canvas, Skyward, or other platform.
Email your Guidance Counselor now!! Get your transcript before everyone is bugging counselors for help with transcripts.

You can share about the experiences outside of the classroom that help shape your life. Come prepared with activity/organization name, dates, and other relevant details.

SAT or ACT scores are becoming “optional” at most schools, but some still require you submit your scores as part of the application process.
Look at the list of colleges you plan to apply to and determine whether you need your test scores or not.

Many applications you will complete during this time want to know family demographics.

Similar to the list of your activities and work, this section will help paint the picture of who you are and what you’ve accomplished.
Remember, these are all part of your brand. What do you want people to know about you?

If you’re applying through Common App most schools will require you to complete one of the Common App essay prompts. A few schools require additional essays on top of the Common App essays. Be sure to check each individual college’s requirements when working in Common App.

FAFSA
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The senior class of 2027 will apply for the 2027-28 FAFSA.

November 1st- Early Decision Deadline
April 15- 21st Century Scholars FAFSA submission deadline
June 30- Submission and corrections deadline

Visit the FAFSA website listed above to create your FSA ID, a username and password legally tied to you. Your FSA ID is ONLY for you and will be used for your lifetime, including if/when your future children apply for aid.
Your parent/legal guardian will need their own FSA ID to help you complete the FAFSA.

Everyone applying to FAFSA must be a citizen, permanent resident, or be an eligible noncitizen.
Your parents legal status does not affect your eligibility.

FAFSA asks for your financial and tax records AND your parents’ financial and tax records for the last two years.
If you and/or your parents filed digitally (Turbo Tax, .gov websites, etc.) you can easily transfer that information directly using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool while completing the FAFSA. If you file on paper and mail in your tax returns, you will need to bring your paper returns for the last two years to the FAFSA session.

FAFSA will ask you for the complete list of schools you are interested in attending during the application. They ask this so they can send your FAFSA results directly to the school for you. It’s better to list as many of the schools your applying to, that way you don’t have to go back and manually send the FAFSA to any schools.
TeenWorks Scholarship
The TeenWorks Scholarship is housed at CICF, the Central Indiana Community Foundation. Through the CICF portal, Pro seniors and alumni can apply to the exclusive TeenWorks Scholarship, as well as open community and school scholarships.
