Inaugural Gene B. Glick Community Service Award
TeenWorks proudly announces the success of the Gene B. Glick Community Service Award, presented by Marianne Glick and Mike Woods and Katz, Sapper & Miller. This event is a new annual recognition celebrating individuals whose commitment to service reflects the values and legacy of Indiana philanthropist Gene B. Glick.
The inaugural event raised more than $128,000 to support TeenWorks’ mission of empowering young people through meaningful employment, workforce development, and year-round opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Established in honor of Gene B. Glick’s enduring belief in the potential of young people and the importance of giving back to the community, the award recognizes servant leaders who create lasting impact through their dedication to others. In 1981, Gene Glick founded Pro 100, which would eventually become TeenWorks, beginning with a simple vision - to provide teens with opportunities to learn the value of hard work, self-discipline, and community service. Today, that vision continues through TeenWorks’ Summer, Pro, and Alumni programs.
The inaugural Gene B. Glick Community Service Award was presented to Charlie Brown, a respected community leader whose lifelong commitment to serving underserved youth exemplifies the spirit of the award and Gene Glick’s philanthropic legacy.
“It was important to me to have an award - the Gene Glick Community Service Award - to recognize people in the community who have that same heart for underresourced youth that my dad had,” Marianne Glick, TeenWorks Board Chair.
Funds raised through the event will directly support TeenWorks programs that connect young people with paid work-based learning experiences, career exploration opportunities, and mentoship from community and business leaders.
This award will become an annual celebration of service, philanthropy, and the transformative impact of investing in the next generation.
